Convicted felon Rev. Armstrong returns back to his neighborhood a changed man looking to take over his father's old church. The neighborhood is tough and full of drugs and gangs. Through Armstrong's tough demeanor and strong faith he tries to make a difference with Norris - a youth on the edge of falling into a lifetime of drugs and gangs. Also Armstrong must deal with his past history of violence and make sure he doesn't fall again.

Widowed, successful Californian sports journalist King is a great catch. His pride and joy, son David, suddenly says he gave up baseball, and hence his scholarship. Actually he's leaving college, aspiring arts school. King finds out trough his lover, hearts columnist Peyton McGruder. The next door neighbors Nell Bedworth and Woody Deane have opposite behaviors and hate each other: the virgin geek Nell is polite, sensitive and well-prepared to go to Yale, while Woody is rude and his greatest expectation is to join a mediocre university due to his abilities playing football. When Nell and Woody are assigned to visit a museum together, they argue in front of a statue of an Aztec god. During the night, their souls swap bodies, bringing difficult situations to them. They first try to damage each others reputation in high school, but soon they discover that their dream of joining college can only happen with mutual respect and support.
